Privacy Policy

The short version

This site is a free calorie calculator for adults aged 18 and over. It never asks for your name, email or phone number, and there is no account to create. The numbers you enter are saved only if you tap "Save my numbers" on the results screen, together with a random ID kept in your browser. That ID does not name you, but it is not anonymous either: it links your saved visits from the same browser.

What is collected

Only when you tap Save my numbers on the results screen, this is saved:

• The details you entered: age, height, weight, sex, activity level, goal and the body type you picked
• The results calculated from them: maintenance calories, target calories, protein
• Which language you used
• A random identifier stored in your browser, so repeat visits from the same browser group together. It is a random string, not linked to your name or to any account, but it does link your saved entries, so this data is pseudonymous rather than anonymous. It is created only the first time you choose to save.

Not collected: name, email address, phone number, postal address, payment details, precise location, or any login.

Why

To see which goals and body types people actually pick, so the free content and the calculator get better. It is never sold, and it is never used to contact you, because there is nothing here to contact you with.

Advertising

The results screen can show an ad through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, and may personalise them based on your previous visits to this and other websites. The ad code loads only on the results screen.

• You can control personalised advertising at Google My Ad Center.
• More on how Google uses data from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
• If your device is set to a time zone in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, no ads are shown and the ad code is not loaded at all.

Cookies and browser storage

The calculator itself sets no tracking cookies. It stores one random identifier in your browser's local storage, described above. Clearing your browser data removes it. Advertising cookies are set by Google, not by this site, and are covered by the section above.

Who else handles the data

• Supabase — database hosting for the saved results.
• Vercel — website hosting, and page-view counts (Vercel Web Analytics: no cookies, no personal data).
• Google AdSense — advertising, as described above.

Fonts are served from this site, so no font provider sees your visit.

Your choices

• Don't tap Save my numbers, and nothing you enter is saved.
• Clear your browser storage to remove the random identifier.
• Ask for the entries from your browser to be deleted, using the contact below. Because nothing identifies you, you may be asked for the identifier from your browser storage so the right rows can be found.

Children

This calculator is for adults aged 18 and over; it does not accept a younger age. Calorie targets are not appropriate for children and teenagers.

Not medical advice

The numbers here are an estimate from a standard formula (Mifflin-St Jeor). They are not medical advice. Speak to a doctor or a dietitian before making significant changes, especially with any medical condition.
